Tim Wareing travelled to Australia with ex Manchester United player and 1999 Treble Winner, David May, to deliver elite coaching clinics with Australian Soccer Camp Agencies.
Tim and David travelled from Manchester via Abu Dhabi to Brisbane with Etihad Airlines. It took just over 24 hours to get there. They were met by their host and transferred to their accommodation. It was a very busy schedule. It kicked off the next day with over 40 children signed up for a day clinic at Runaway Bay FC on the Gold Coast. After the clinic there was an interesting visit and tasting session in Australia’s oldest Distillery. The evening entertainment was a Q&A with David May at the Brisbane Manchester United Supporters Club back in the city.
David and Tim operated an Elite Coaching Week based at local club, North Lakes Mustangs, from Monday to Friday. They worked with over 50 children helping develop their technical ability and game understanding. They operated an additional session on Wednesday evening in Ipswich. It was a small group session involving 12 children that finished with a Q&A with David May.
Brisbane is a beautiful city. The weather was lovely at 25-27 degrees each day. It was coming into their winter season. The hospitality was unbelievable and the coaches made to feel so welcome.
On the Friday evening the coaching team flew from Brisbane to Darwin. A 4 hour flight to the Northern Territory. Darwin was very hot and sticky. 33 degrees and the humidity was very high too. Italian Club were the hosts for a 2 day clinic with close to 20 children in attendance. What made it even more special was the memorial game for the late Eddie Sepulveda.
It was a truly wonderful experience for Tim Wareing to coach and share his methods with the talented Australian children.
Here is some highlights from the coaching clinic.
